This is a dust storm:

This was taken outside my office at 5pm today. Normally at 5pm in Iraq it is so bright outside that you can either 1) wear sunglasses, or 2) have your retinas burn to a crisp. When it gets like this, it is called “Red Air”.

Nice, you can check out the vignetting of your camera (those darker zones in the corners) I doubt you can do that in full sun.

    Hang in there Tom!

Looks nice. Just the reverse of monsoon season in Vietnam. I think I like the monsoons better. We couldn’t fly and spent most of the time at the hanger drinking coffee, playing dominoes, and smoking.
I talked to Kathy last night. She sounded tired. Is your e-mail the same? Also, I was wondering if you’d like an occasional book on tape? (CD really) I have the inside to our library. The acquisition librarian will order anything we want and we’re the first to get it. Let me know of any titles and I’ll try and send some to you when I can. Take care and stay hydrated.
    Uncle Dave
