Needham High School (Massachusetts) has decided to stop publishing the names of kids who make the honor roll in the local paper. The change was proposed by one of the namby-pamby parents (probably a Red Sox fan) who lived with the daily horror of having only one of his three kids on the honor roll.
Great idea, dad! Let’s spend our energy removing recognition from those that earn it rather than motivating the others to succeed. Viva mediocrity!
I have a better idea. Instead of removing the honor roll, lets start publishing the list of employees at the local McDonalds. Then in a few years all of your kids will have had their names in the paper.

Amen!… like competitive sports versus.. ‘lets all let everyone play so no one realizes they might not be cut out for sports and let the ones who are cut out for the sports never realize or push their true potential because they are constantly benched’…

As one who lives in Masschusetts, I have to again note how very proud of the Commonwealth I am constantly able to be. Because I hope my children will never excell, I am so happy to be living here where they will not be encouraged to do well in any way. No one should ever encourage anyone to do well - the best way is to make sure that we are all equally incompetent, equally discouraged, equally miserable. This is the future of America. So does America have a future?

Aren’t you glad we won’t ever have to worry about this with our “Mensa” girls? :o)
