Charley Rangel will chair the Ways and Means committee. Goodbye, Bush tax cuts and economic improvements.
John Conyers will chair the Judiciary committee. Hello, impeachment proceedings.
Alcee Hastings (a former federal judge impeached and removed for corruption and bribery) will chair the Intelligence committee.
If the two outstanding Senate races end up the way they are currently leaning, the Senate will be 51-49 (assuming the two independents caucus with the democrats. That would mean SENATOR KENNEDY WOULD CHAIR THE ETHICS COMMITTEE.

I didn’t know you were in the service, Tom. Whenever I’m out with my kids and I see a man in uniform, if I can I shake his hand. I am just so grateful for the protection they provide for our country, and personally for my children.
