Last night the Yankees beat the Red Sox and one Pedro Martinez (his brother is Ramon). This morning I was reading the game summary on Yahoo! Sports, and I ran across a quote from Pedro that almost made me spit coffee all over my laptop. This may just be the best quote I’ve ever read:

“What can I say — just tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy,” he said. “I can’t find a way to beat them at this point. … They’re that good. They’re that hot right now — at least against me. I wish they would disappear and not come back.”

HAHAHAHAHA…. how does that taste, BostonFan? I’m sure you are VERY happy to see your star pitcher just bend over and take it like that. Let’s take a quick inventory: We have Derek Jeter diving into the stands and wearing the front-row seats; you have Pete Martinez publicly accepting that it is his lot in life to lose to the Yankees. I can’t imagine why you haven’t won anything since 1918…
